1. What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit britwise.info. They allow the site to function, remember preferences and analyse traffic.

What we actually use.
a) Strictly necessary (always on)
Authentication, JWT security, CSRF protection, language storage. Without these, the product cannot function. No consent required under GDPR Art. 6(1)(f).
b) Analytics (optional)
Anonymous measurement: sessions, duration, paths. Used to improve the AI Coach. Provider: Plausible Analytics (EU-based, no personal tracking).
c) Marketing (optional)
Allow Britwise to show relevant ads on Meta, Google and LinkedIn, build look-alike audiences and measure conversions. If disabled, you still see ads but they won't be personalised.
d) Preferences (optional)
AI Coach voice (Olivia / Daniel / Sophia), playback speed, dark mode. If disabled, you'll re-pick these every visit.
3. Third-party cookies
Stripe (payments, essential), Cloudflare (DDoS protection, essential), Plausible (analytics, optional), Meta / Google / LinkedIn (marketing, optional). No third party receives personal data unless you accept the matching category.
4. How long we keep them
Session cookies: cleared when you close the browser. Persistent cookies: up to 12 months. Marketing cookies: up to 90 days.
5. Your rights
You may: (a) change your choices any time via the banner at the bottom of any page; (b) delete cookies in your browser settings; (c) request deletion of personal data at privacy@britwise.info. We'll respond within 30 days per GDPR Art. 15-17.
6. CCPA (California residents)
You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Britwise does NOT sell personal data. To opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, use the 'Essential only' button in the banner or email privacy@britwise.info.
